Community Links

At Chilwell School, we are proud to be an integral part of a vibrant and supportive community. Our collaborations with local organisations enrich our students’ experiences and strengthen our communal bonds. Below are some of the key partnerships and community links that contribute to the holistic development of our students:

Chilwell Family of Schools

We are a proud member of the Chilwell Family of Schools, working closely with our partner primary institutions to provide high-quality education to children in our area. This collaboration ensures a smooth transition for students advancing from primary to secondary education.

Nottinghamshire Badminton Association

Chilwell School has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with the Nottinghamshire Badminton Association (NottsBA) for over 50 years, fostering a strong community connection and promoting badminton within the local area. This collaboration has significantly enhanced the school’s extracurricular offerings and provided students with valuable opportunities to engage in the sport.

Training and Development: Through this collaboration, Chilwell School students have benefited from specialised coaching and training sessions conducted by experienced professionals associated with NottsBA. This exposure has been instrumental in developing students’ skills and fostering a deeper appreciation for the sport.

Community Engagement: The partnership has enabled students to participate in local tournaments and events organised by NottsBA, promoting community engagement and healthy competition.

This enduring partnership underscores Chilwell School’s commitment to providing diverse extracurricular opportunities and fostering community ties through sports.

Chilwell Memorial Hall and Institute

Established in 1924 to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Great War, the Chilwell Memorial Hall and Institute offers a variety of community facilities and activities. The institute provides spaces for clubs, events, and recreational activities, fostering community engagement and offering our students opportunities to participate in local events.

Hope Community Hub

Located at St Barnabas Church, the Hope Community Hub is a partnership between Chilwell Parish and Hope Nottingham. It aims to bring hope and life to our neighborhoods by providing a space for people to meet and grow together. The hub offers various activities, including community cafés, food clubs, and after-school programs, which our students and their families are encouraged to engage with.

Chilwell Olympia Sports Centre

Adjacent to our school, the Chilwell Olympia Sports Centre meets the recreational and sporting needs of both our students and the wider community. The center offers facilities for various sports, including badminton, basketball, cricket, and more. Our partnership with the center enhances our physical education curriculum and provides students with opportunities to participate in local sports events.

Beeston Youth & Community Centre

Serving the youth of Chilwell and surrounding areas, the Beeston Youth & Community Centre collaborates with organisations such as the Nottinghamshire County Council Youth Service and the NHS Blood and Transplant service. The center offers various programs and activities that support the personal and social development of young people, complementing the educational experience at Chilwell School.

Chilwell Family Hub

The Chilwell Family Hub provides support services to families, including one-on-one family support, breastfeeding support, and Forest Schools. The hub’s resources are invaluable to our students and their families, offering additional support to ensure the well-being and success of our community.

We encourage our students and their families to engage with these organisations to enrich their educational journey and strengthen community ties. Together, we strive to create a supportive and dynamic environment that fosters growth, learning, and mutual respect.
