Work experience at Tribe - James Bird
One week in July is Chilwell sixth Forms careers experience. I was lucky enough to be selected by Mrs Fyles to complete this at Tribe.
Tribe helped to develop my approach towards journalism in many aspects. The teams friendly persona and welcoming aura, accompanied by their professionalism ensured a healthy work environment which only contributed to my learning experience. Experts in PR relations, Tribe taught me key skills such as appealing to specific target markets and forming an overview into the pragmatics of journalism. Involving myself into key projects and giving me a platform to showcase my abilities helped my confidence to enter the field of journalism in the future.
I was offered constructive criticism in my involvement which was put forward in a positive manner, having worked on projects for Centre Parcs and Vision Express. In addition to this, I was handed an insight into brainstorming meetings in which the company attempted to compose a method in order to fulfill a company's vision.
Overall, Tribe encouraged my desire to seek a career in journalism and opened my mind into digital design, showing me the complexion of branding. I would thoroughly recommend work experience at Tribe to aspiring journalists or web designers, who are searching for invaluable advice about the field.
I have applied to do journalism at university. I have had all my offers, now I need to decide on my first choice and my insurance universities, oh, and the small job of revising for my A levels!
