Coronavirus - 10th March
Over the past week, we have been reinforcing our healthy behaviour expectations with students. Whilst many have responded well, there are still a number of students who need to improve their approaches to cleanliness and awareness of others. As parents, please reinforce the importance of continued vigilance at home, at school and out in public.
We have also been making advance preparations for supporting students in the event of the school having to close for any reason. Whilst we recognise that this is a possibility, there are no plans at present to close the school. Our priority in developing resources in these early days has been examination classes, but we are confident that we are developing systems which will allow students to access learning resources, activities and their teachers if we enter a situation where the opportunities to be together as a community are restricted. This includes resources being online and currently we are developing the facility for video conferencing with staff.
We do not intend to roll these out unless we are faced with closure, but I wanted to reassure parents that we have the situation in hand.
At present we do not know how the corona virus situation will affect public examinations, so at present we urge all parents and students to ensure that the focus is upon revision and preparation for examinations as published in May and June.
Please reinforce the messages of cleanliness and washing hands!
