Waterstones visit
Report from Shayla Whyte -
On Monday 20th January, the five library helpers who have helped in the library the most this year went to Waterstones in Nottingham to buy books for the school library. When we arrived, we chose the books we wanted for the library and also chose books that some pupils had suggested.
Then we were taken on a tour of Waterstones. First we saw the delivery area where all the books and merchandise are taken. Next we went down into the warehouse and we walked down a lot of stairs and corridors to get down to the basement where it smelt like new books (which I loved). After that we went down to the place where all the online deliveries are made and they had about a hundred times more books than we get in a month and it was a quiet day for them!
We finally went to the cafe and the librarian and library assistant bought us a drink and a cake as a treat for working in the library for the last year.
