A rebuild for Chilwell School!
I am delighted to announce that Chilwell School will be undertaking a rebuild with state of the art facilities. To be able to announce this in the year when we celebrate the fiftieth year of the school is a special birthday celebration!
With the original building being built in 1971 with a predicted 30-year life we have been campaigning behind the scenes and working with Nottinghamshire local authority to secure the funding and expand the success of the school for the benefit of the local community, its students, and the staff.
This is a great example of how people working collaboratively can ensure the best possible outcome for local communities. I am delighted that the hard work that both the school and the local authority have undertaken for many years has led to this acceptance by the Department of Education that funding was essential.
The construction of the new school building marks the beginning of a huge opportunity for the future of the Beeston and Chilwell community. Our chair of governors, Michael Wisher said “I’m so excited to announce the investment in Chilwell School, and I’m also incredibly proud to be involved in such a momentous project,”
This will allow us to continue to provide our students and teachers with a strong future. It has been a long campaign and we would like to thank Nottinghamshire local authority for supporting us through this journey.
