Pupils are regularly set homework in most of their curriculum subjects.
All homework is set using Google Classroom. Homework will be set as an assignment which will give full details of the task to be completed, any additional resources and the due date.
A variety of homework tasks may be set depending on the subject and year group, these may include research tasks, additional practice of key skills, use of online platforms, additional reading and completion of coursework.
Pupils can receive additional support with homework in our after school homework club, pupils will be able to access computers, print worksheets and get help from teachers and support staff. The library is also open at lunchtimes and afterschool.
Pupils who fail to complete homework on time and to the required standard will be set a C2 Consequence by their class teacher, this will be recorded in the Arbor Parent App.
Year 7 Homework
Pupils in Year 7 are set homework in most of their curriculum subjects.

Subject | Frequency | Outline of Possible Tasks |
Maths | Every Week | Pupils will be set an online task to complete using either the MyMaths or MathsWatch websites. Login details and passwords for both websites can be found in their planner. Pupils should work through the online revision lesson (MyMaths) or video (MathsWatch) before completing the homework task. All tasks can be repeated to improve the score if necessary and to achieve a ‘green light’. Additional MathsWatch tasks may be set in preparation for, and as follow up to, in class assessments. |
English | Fortnightly | English homework is linked to Library lessons and their current reading book. Pupils will select from a varied list of tasks, each with a points value. Pupils have two weeks to read their book and complete their chosen task. |
Science | Every Week | Pupils will be set an online task on the Sam Learning website. Login details can be found in their planner. All tasks can be repeated to improve scores. At the start of each topic pupils will be given a list of 10 Key Word which they will need to learn the definitions of and spelling. An optional project based task will be set each half term, related to the topics being studied – Entries will be judged by the Head of Faculty. |

Technology Rotation | Fortnightly | For each of the subjects in the Technology Rotation (Art, Food Technology, Resistant Materials), pupils will be set a homework task every two weeks.
