15th December 2023
Our students in year eleven and thirteen have now completed the first week of mock examinations and they have been calm, purposeful and organised. Well done to all of them.
Keeping our community safe and calm
As we move towards the Christmas break, I would like to give a further update in regard to the work the school is doing with Broxtowe Council, our primaries and the police in ensuring that there is quick and effective communication about any anti-social behaviour in the community.
I have shared the letters from the council and the police in the blog of 1st December. We have now set up a series of assemblies in the new year with the police for all students in years seven to eleven with a focus on being alert to, and reporting, anti-social behaviour. Inspector Mike Ebbins, Broxtowe District Commander and PC Gibaldi will be working together to reinforce the message that anti-social behaviour is not tolerated and to ensure that there is confidence in our community to report it immediately.
We are really pleased to be co-ordinating this approach and ensuring that together we can make our community safe and calm for all of our families.
Opportunities in Rugby
Further to the activities in school, there are some exciting opportunities for students over and after the Christmas break. Please have a look and sign up today!
Mobile phones
Please remember that mobile phones are not to be seen on site. When they are seen, they are taken and looked after and parents need to collect them from reception.
End of this term and start of next
A final reminder that we will end this term on Friday 22nd December at 12.00pm and start next term for students at 8.40am on Monday 8th January. The school bus has been rescheduled for the last day of term (Friday, 22 December 2023) to 12.00pm and will leave school at 12.10pm -12.15pm.
