7th October 2022
Parents of current year seven pupils met with tutors last night via our online meeting app. Thank you for all the positive comments that we received and also the opportunity to answer any questions about the first half-term's activities. It is clear that our year sevens have settled in really well and thank you for your support with this.
School tours
There are some opportunities still available for parents of children in years five and six if you would like the opportunity to tour the school before half-term. Remember that applications for a secondary school place need to be made by 31st October 2022. Please ensure that wherever you choose, you meet this deadline as late applications will be dealt with last.
Covid update
We have reissued guidance for parents in the unfortunate event that children contract Covid. Please check this guidance so that we can continue to keep our community and families safe.
Sporting success continues!
Last Saturday. Aidan Cheung in year ten won the Champion Singles, Boys Doubles & Mixed Doubles at a player selection for Nottinghamshire County and so we look forward to hearing of more success in the future! We have a thriving badminton club in school and if your child is interested in joining a badminton club out of school, please see the flyer for further details.
In football, on Wednesday the year nine team had a convincing 4-0 win over Trinity school. Goals came from Zach Morley(2), Alfie Whitehead and Tom Mann. There were standout performances from Man of the match Harry Morley, Alex Scott and Kanye Bradshaw. Also winners were our year eleven team who won 3-0 away at Tuxford. Congratulations to them all!
Weather - coats
As the weather turns colder and wetter, please can all parents ensure that students have waterproof coats and / or umbrellas. On Wednesday the weather was very wet and we can not avoid students going outside to access the canteens or other teaching blocks.
Sixth form open evening
A reminder that our sixth form open evening is on Thursday 13th October at 6.30pm. Come and see why more and more students are choosing Lakeview at Chilwell as the place to launch themselves into further study. Year eleven students will have received a letter of invitation and we hold our sixth form taster lessons next week.
