29th March 2019
The end of term will soon be upon us and next term will bring the season of examinations.
Our year eleven students have already had a term of additional support in their target lessons in order to ensure they are on track for the best possible grades. Over the spring break they will need to ensure they keep up a regular approach to revision and students will soon receive their examination and revision session timetables for the summer.
We are also considering the next generation of learners and on Tuesday we welcomed in a group of students from Beeston Rylands for a music workshop. Music has been steadily developing at Chilwell over the past few years and we are really proud of the creativity amongst our musicians. Our year eight and nine students were excellent role models for our primary school visitors.
It was a pleasure to meet so many parents of year eight students last night to discuss attainment and progress. It was a very positive evening and I was glad to have been busy with conversations all evening.
Please remember that our end of term is next Thursday 4th April. On Friday 5th we have a staff training day which will give us the opportunity to review the progress across the school in our provision. We will especially be considering the impact of our behaviour expectations, our support for disadvantaged students and the raised expectations across the curriculum for our students.
