A new term has brought with it warm weather, more students joining our school and next week we will be extending our team of staff as we appoint a number of new teachers.
Our students continue to work exceptionally well and I am grateful that we have been able to avoid the need to send any students home for Covid-related reasons. We maintain our routines and would ask that parents ensure that the twice weekly testing continues at home so that we can keep our community safe. We have just received a further supply of lateral flow tests and these will be sent home with students next week.
The summer sun has been with us this week and it has been a lift to the spirits to see the lake welcome new fledglings. As these weeks race by, they will soon be grown up and we will be facing the start of a new academic year. Our planning for next year is based on a flexible approach which will allow us to return to students having access to classrooms right across the school, but which would also allow us, if events take a turn over the summer, to continue with a bubbled approach as we have done this year.
In addition, we have received a hundred applications from people who wish to work at Chilwell next year. We will have a busy week making sure we select people who will bring their skills and energy to our provision. It is an exciting time to be planning our next stage of development.
I will also shortly be issuing notification of parent governor nominations for parents who wish to join our governing body. Our governors play a vital role in ensuring we provide quality education and so if you are interested in becoming one of our governors, please consider this opportunity.
