Chilwell took an early lead through the effervescent Langfield, as he outpaced and outfought the Brunts defence to cooly slot home. Just before the break, Allen (who had been switched to right back) whipped in a delightful right wing ball, that was met expertly by Kneller, sliding in to secure a two goal advantage.

The second half saw a change of referee (Pownall being replaced by Fendick). Fendick almost immediately awarding a penalty to Brunts, after Ferguson was harshly judged to have hauled down Brunts lively winger. Brunts duly scored, meaning a change in personnel was needed.

Gillies was brought on at left full back and Dale Nisbet pushed further forward to add some more attacking verve. This move paid dividends almost immediately with Nisbet dancing around the right back and laying the ball off for Langfield to rifle a low shot past the keeper. Nisbet continued to torment his opposite number and scored arguably the goal of the game, cutting in from the the left and curling an unstoppable effort into the top right corner of the goal.

In the final stages of the match, Langfield was bundled over in the penalty area and Allen calmy dispatched the resulting penalty to round off a dominant display by our irrepressible team.

Some outstanding performances by all, but Upton, Jackson and Langfield were the jewels in the crown of a glittering display, with Jackson my 'Man of the Match'.
