Covid-19 - Year nine students to remain at home on 9th November 2020
Sunday 8th November 2020 - Students in year nine are not to attend school on Monday 9th November as a result of a confirmed case of Covid-19 in year nine.
The school is implementing our procedures that we have in place for this eventuality and we have been in discussion with the Department for Education and PHE today (Sunday). We will be able to make further decisions about students needing to continue to self-isolate after tomorrow, once we have confirmed with our staff the information on close contacts.
Until these discussions can take place, we are taking the precaution of informing you that students in year nine are not to attend school on Monday 9th November. Tasks will be available for students to complete from home on Google classroom, with Google meet being used by staff to support students online.
Students in year groups seven, eight, ten, eleven, twelve and thirteen are expected to attend if they are well.
We will establish a complete list of students who have been in prolonged contact and then will issue further information tomorrow regarding the return to school of any students in year nine. We hope that the majority of year nine students will be able to return on Tuesday.
A programme of thorough cleaning will take place in the year nine bubble area from first thing on Monday morning.
