Examination results 2020
A level results have been issued to year thirteen students and we await the release of GCSE results for year eleven students on Thursday.
It is clear that whilst we have many excellent outcomes for students, across the country and within our own institution there have been instances of students being awarded grades that do not match our expectations of their performance.
We are currently supporting year thirteen students in ensuring they all move on to courses on which they deserve a place.
For year eleven students who are to receive their results on Thursday, we want to ensure they also can move on to the courses they deserve.
In order to ensure transparency and clarity for our prospective students, the school will accept both the centre assessed grades and awarded grade in order to meet the criteria for entry to the sixth form.
We are proud of how the school stands up for those who have been under great strain during the Covid crisis. Whether it is has been the response to supporting students in receipt of free school meals, the development of a tailored curriculum for all students, or the support for families through weekly contact, the school will ensure that students have a clear and supported way forward.
We hope that this will help year eleven students and ease anxiety over the next week until we have greater clarity from the government.
In the meantime, we are pleased for the students in year thirteen who have a clear way forward. We are available for students in year thirteen who need support in managing the remaining hurdles.
