Stanley aims at GB rowing team
Rowing is a hobby for life. It is my passion to become stronger and become the elite version of myself. It’s a physically demanding sport which means that you have to be determined to fulfil the target you have set.
Recently I have been offered a place in the Nottingham Rowing club training camp which is held in Brive-La-Gaillarde, France. This will help me to get to a place on the GB rowing team. I will be training from six o’clock in the morning to four o’clock in the afternoon for ten days. The training will consist of; weights, water sessions, core, weight circuits, and cross fitness. We will also have small races with everyone.
Achieving outstanding scores in rowing, such as the 2k test means that I could get opportunities to go to certain universities who want rowers. The universities can lower the grade boundaries or even give you a scholarship. The sixth form are backing me to get my highest achievable potential so I can get as far as possible in rowing and my education.
