Perhaps not since the halcyon days of Clough and Taylor ruling the roost at the City Ground has Nottingham seen such giant killing exploits.

Our Y11 team, with the majority of our players actually in Y10, clinically dispatched Rushcliffe School by four goals to nil.

Rushcliffe were a very good team but could not cope with our relentless work ethic and indomitable team spirit.

Players Ratings:

1. Jamie Nisbett - Y10 student

A very good outfield player, Nisbett has now made the goalkeepers position his own with another flawless display. Excellent kicking and ball handling ensured the Chilwell defence was rarely under pressure. 

2. Mark Allen - Y11 student

Mark played at right back and continued to show great strength and timing in the tackle. With the happy knack of always seeming to be in the right place at the right time. Another solid display by Allen, keeping the lively Rushcliffe left winger at bay for the duration of the game.

3. Billy Gillies - Y10 student

Billy continues to impress in this new position at left back, which seems to suit his game as a tenacious tackler and exquisite passer of the ball. Billy never seems to lose a tackle and has great vision when on the ball. He linked really well with Nisbett and made several strong runs forward to test the opposition's defence.

4. Lewis Jackson - Y11 student

Another fine display as our CDM, Lewis protected our back four with his intelligent reading of the game and astute positioning. Despite playing a full 90 minutes last night, Lewis still seemed to cover every blade of grass and orchestrated the tempo of the game with his slick passing.

5. Daniel Ferguson - Y10 student

Playing at centre-half with Lewis Barker, Ferguson really is in the Bobby Moore mould. His reading of the game was again impeccable, to the extent I cannot remember him losing a tackle all match. His partnership with Barker continues to blossom and improve the more they play together.

6. Lewis Barker - Y11 student

Lewis is a Rolls Royce of a player, who was both physically and figuratively head and shoulders above the opposition in his display today. A Nottingham Forest scholar, Barker marshalled his defence with ease. Strong in the tackle, unbeatable in the air and elegant on the ball.

7. Adam Sapii-Price - Y10 student

Adam had his finest game to date in the blue and white of Chilwell, especially in the first half when he was at times unplayable. He capped off an outstanding performance with a super far post header to give us a deserved lead. A constant threat on the right-wing, his work rate both offensively and defensively was absolutely magnificent.

8. Riley Billson - Y10 student

Riley is a key player for us in the centre of the park and was again at the heart of the action in today’s fixture. His partnership with Kneller is extremely robust ensuring we dominated the midfield throughout the game. Riley made run after run into the oppositions box, creating space for Langfield to score.

9. Cass Langfield - Y10 student

Our lone striker was again in top form and at times unplayable,as he continued his scoring run with two more goals. His first came as he danced around the Rushcliffe defence before curling the ball around the keeper. His second was a confidently taken penalty after Kneller was fouled in the box.

10. Oliver Kneller - Y10

Oliver plays centre midfield and along with Billson and Jackson helped us dominate the match. His tackling and unboundless energy paid dividends when he ran into the oppositions box and was felled in the area. The resulting penalty converted by Langfield virtually wrapped up the game. However Kneller, still somehow found the energy to burst into the box again in the final minutes of the match and score a tap in after good work by Ellis. A fine performance and a ‘man of the match’ contender.

11. Dale Nisbett - Y11

Dale played left wing today and also filled in at left back in the final stages of the match. Dale can go past players with ease and linked well with Langfield today offensively. A constant threat going forward, he also worked hard to protect Gillies at left back.

12. Isaac Sanguinazzi - Y10

A cameo role for Isaac on this occasion, coming on for the last twenty minutes to play right wing. Isaac is very confident on the ball and quickly showed his quality whenever he touched the ball.

13. Kurt Ellis - Y11

Kurt also played for the final twenty minutes, coming on at left wing, with Nisbett dropping to left full back. A very attacking minded player, Kurt proved to be a real handful for a tiring Rushcliffe defence. His industrious running created havoc and resulted in the opposition keeper nearly bringing him down for a penalty. The ball then somewhat fortuitously falling to Kneller to pass into an empty net.
