26th January 2024

Our year eight students have responded excellently this week to their assessments. It is an opportunity for students to mark a moment in their key stage three curriculum to reflect on what they have learnt and the next steps in their education.

I am also really pleased to share with you the excellent response by our students to an accident that happened after school on Monday. One of our students was injured in a fall on the way home and a group of students responded excellently, using the first aid skills learnt the previous week on Discovery Day and contacting the emergency services and parents for assistance. I had the pleasure of speaking to year ten in assembly this morning and thanking the students involved. In education we are always looking for those moments that demonstrate how students are moving on and here was a clear case of education, maturity, care and consideration all evident in the actions of our students. Well done to them all.

Sixth form progression

We have continued with sixth form interviews as well as a range of strategies in tutor time and assemblies to support our year eleven students. On Monday of this week we held a range of assemblies with different groups of students to share next steps.

Valentine's roses

The prom committee will be selling Valentine's roses from Monday 29th January until Thursday 8th February. If students want to purchase a rose, these are available for £1 and the committee will get around to students in the next two weeks. They will be visiting each tutor group as much as they can.

The rose will be delivered on the afternoon of Friday 9th February.

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
