It was such a pleasure to share the news with staff this afternoon and we are all excited about what this means for our children and the generations that will join us into the future.

We have made representation at all levels to ensure that the need for a rebuild stayed high on the agenda and I would like to thank the key players who have been so important in today's success. Our governing body have championed the school, our colleagues in the local authority have supported and listened to us and we have continued to develop effective provision for students who are with us now whilst also looking to the next fifty years of our school.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the children of Beeston and Chilwell and today is a very proud day. The next fifty years looks very positive and whilst we are delighted, we also recognise that our success is built upon the work of everyone who has made Chilwell School what it is today. Fifty years of history has established the school as a key part of the community and well placed to continue to lead into the future. As Sir Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants."

End of this term and start of next

We end this term on Tuesday 20th December at 12.00pm and start next term for students at 8.40am on Thursday 5th January. We hope you all have a restful break.

Cygnus

We have been reviewing the provision for Cygnus and there will be a number of changes in January, with further opportunities for exam year students to get support in the term before their examinations. We will continue with a range of activities for students in all years and we look forward to the new year with excitement!
