4th November 2022

It has been business as usual in our first week back after the break. Students have returned positively and we look forward to a busy half-term.

Revision

Both years thirteen and eleven will be having mock examinations in the final weeks of this term and to support parents of year eleven we are holding a session on "how to revise" on Thursday 10th November at 7.00pm. With a month to go until the examinations it is important that students are engaged in a structured programme of revision and preparation. We want our year eleven students to start the spring term confidently and this is why we have our current focus on progression to post sixteen learning. With the mock examinations in December, it will mean that January will be a time to look forward to the adventures of the new academic year and have the confidence of a sound set of mock results to build confidence. The session on Thursday will be on zoom and we will send out the invitation code on the day.

Sixth form applications

We have already received a large number of applications for Lakeview - our sixth form provision. Mr Sweeney has started the process of interviewing students to ensure all applicants are getting support and guidance. If you are planning to apply to the school, please use the application form that can be found here. Once you have done so, we will be in contact to arrange a further discussion of the courses you plan to follow.

Discovery Day

On Wednesday of next week we will be holding the first of our "Discovery Days" when year groups undertake a range of activities to support their learning. Year seven pupils will be studying festivals of light, year eight pupils world cultures, year nine pupils will have a focus on health, whilst year ten students will focus upon healthy relationships.

Our year eleven students have a day exploring higher and further education choices, year twelve student will be looking at aspirations and year thirteen students focussing on completing UCAS applications.

We look forward to it.
