14th October 2022

We wish all of our families a restful break. We return to school on Monday 31st October.

Break and lunchtime provision

We are very conscious that the colder winter months will be ahead of us when we return after half-term. Over the last few years we have managed to provide break snacks outside but the unpredictable weather has sometimes meant students getting damp. We will be opening canteen areas at break as well as lunchtime on our return, but in order to make sure that the areas can cater for the number of year groups we are amending the times of break and lunch for year eleven so that they can access the Bistro in Lakeview at a different time to the sixth form. Students have been informed this week and we will bring in the changes from the first week back.

Work experience - sixth form

We encourage all of our students to take up work experience opportunities at the end of year twelve and it was good to see the experience of one of our students, Malina Minson, feature on the Derby University website.

We hope it encourages other students to look ahead and consider the opportunities available to them.

This week has seen both the sixth form open evening and sixth form taster day for our year eleven students as a way of supporting them with their choices as they consider next year and beyond.

Sixth form open evening

Last night's open evening was a busy event and it was a pleasure to see so many students and parents for discussions about their future educational plans. Please use the applications section of the sixth form pages to apply for a place at Lakeview sixth form.

Data checking

We have issued a data checking form to parents and carers last week. Please can you ensure this is accurate and returned as soon as possible.
