10th June 2022

We have a couple of evening events for parents and students next week as we look towards the new academic year.

Evening events - specialisms and transition

On Wednesday, Ms Williams will give a presentation to families of year eight students on the year nine specialisms. We have always been committed to a rounded key stage three provision and the one year specialism options for students in year nine offer our students the opportunity to spend more time in a particular subject area to develop their knowledge and skills further

On Thursday, we have the second of the on line transition evenings and families of year six students will be invited to attend a thirty minute session at either 6.00pm or 6.45pm. This will be an opportunity for parents to raise questions and discuss the transition programme before we reach the final evening which will be face to face in school in July.

Chromebooks

As part of our sixth form provision, year twelve students will be receiving chromebooks to support their learning. We plan to issue these next week and students joining the sixth form in September will receive theirs in the new term. We hope that this will enhance the learning of students and ensure that they can access resources effectively.

School day and activities next year

Thank you to our parents who responded to the consultation regarding proposals for next year. There was a lot of enthusiasm regarding our proposed enhancement and curriculum activities and there was a clear majority in favour of the longer lunch and earlier start to the day. We will issue more information in the next few weeks about the new academic year. We have a number of new staff joining us, we will have completed our upgrading of toilets, there will be a new canteen in place and our sixth form building will see a significant investment in facilities and decoration.

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
