6th May 2022

We are rapidly approaching the summer examination season and so our students in years eleven and thirteen have been busy preparing and moderation of assessments by teachers has been occurring across most subject areas.

We will be issuing seating arrangements for examinations to students shortly and this will also be available in the WeDuc app so that the dates and times of examinations will always be easy to hand.

Student successes

We are really pleased with the continuing success of our students in extra-curricular activities and this includes Rachel Grayston in year 13 who has completed her Gold DofE Award and pending formal approval will receive an invitation to go to Buckingham Palace to receive her award.

In addition, Isaac McLeod begins his performances in First Touch at Nottingham Playhouse next week and we wish him every success.

Join us at Chilwell!

We have already had a busy couple of weeks as we recruit more staff for the school for next year. In addition to teaching posts, we will have a number of support staff roles and part-time hours for lunchtime supervisors. If you are interested in any of these posts, please look out for these appearing next week on our vacancies page.

Looking towards next year

I issued a letter on Friday to parents regarding some potential enhancement to our provision next year, including increased catering areas, sixth form facilities and increased opportunities for both social time and enhancement opportunities. We are already catering for lots of students involved in both study opportunities and sporting clubs. We will confirm arrangements for these just after half-term. It is an exciting time as we look to greeting our new cohort of students in year seven and expansion of our sixth form.

And next week we are in the final of the County Cup!
