3rd December 2021

This felt unfortunately like a week of two steps forward three steps back for the country as we returned to the wearing of masks in school.

However, the response of our students and parents has been fantastic, and again I want to thank you for supporting our request to wear masks within the school buildings.

We are awaiting further information and guidance on how we will be informed of any cases of the Omicron variant.

In the meantime we have continued to focus on preparation for examinations for year eleven and thirteen students next week and the completion of assessments for other year groups before the Christmas break.

Examinations 2022

On Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, we met with students in years eleven and thirteen and their parents to go through the arrangements for examinations next summer. The slides and FAQs can be found here.

Parents evening and planning for the future

On Thursday, teachers met with year nine parents for an update on progress and attainment across the curriculum. In addition, our senior team have been meeting with year eleven students as part of the transition to sixth form. It already looks like we will have significant numbers joining us next year, so we are already excited about future developments!

On site testing January 2022

There will be a change at the start of term with the guidance from the Department of Education that schools should undertake on site testing before students return to lessons. We will be making arrangements for this over the next week and will be able to confirm LFT times and the start of lessons shortly. Thank you for your patience on this matter.

Christmas

Whatever is thrown at us we continue to make sure we don't forget how to make things enjoyable and positive. The school is already starting to feel more like Christmas and the snow at the start of the week has made the end of term feel that bit closer!
