Sixth form applications

We have also continued with our usual business of learning and preparing students for the future. We have issued guidance to our year eleven students and those who wish to join us from other schools for their sixth form learning. The admissions process is now well underway and interviews are already planned for next week.

Further information on the application process can be found here and students will then be contacted about the next stage of the process. We intend for all students and parents to be clear about their sixth form place well before we reach the summer examination period so that students can focus upon their learning and developing their skills and knowledge.

Thank you for the support we have received from parents on this issue. Our position remains the same - that I will take significant action if any of our students are identified as being responsible.

Uniform

You may have heard on the news the intention by the government to ensure that uniform for all school students is affordable and accessible. We are pleased that this is now a national expectation and adopted the policies and procedures that we already have at Chilwell school. During lockdown, we were not able to offer our usual provision of swapping and purchasing second hand uniform, but we are pleased that we are offering that again, with two sessions - one on February 10th from 3.15-4.15pm and the second on July 14th 3.15 - 4.15pm. This will be an opportunity to purchase nearly new or second-hand uniform that we have collected in from students and parents. Further details will be available closer to the time.

School dinners

We are pleased to be further extending the offer to students at lunchtime and the rota for food that is available. A variety of food will be available every day and there will be additional dishes available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
