1st October 2021
We began this week with the school vaccination service offering vaccinations to students. It was a very busy day and the students again showed their maturity and co-operation in dealing with the change to the day. Students who were not taking up the vaccine continued in their lessons with their teachers.
It was a delight on Wednesday and Thursday to see two of our teams in action. You can read the impassioned match reports from Mr Lodge here for the year nine match and here for the year eleven match.
On Wednesday the school took part in the Nottinghamshire pilot review of special educational need which is being rolled out across the authority. We continue to ensure we take the opportunity to lead and develop provision and it was good to hear the positive judgements on our effectiveness and how this may influence other schools.
On Thursday night we held our sixth form open evening for our year eleven students and students from nearby schools who want to take the opportunity of learning at our excellent sixth form.
We will upload to the open evening page the slides from the evening for any parents or students who were not able to attend all of the sessions.
Next week we will be meeting the parents of our new year seven students in a series of on-line tutor meetings. If you are a parent of a year seven student, please make sure you have booked for this.
