17th September 2021

We are already into the rhythm of term now and so I would like to take this opportunity to give you some updates and reminders.

Lateral Flow Testing

First, please remember to keep a regular regime of lateral flow tests at home for all students. We have started term positively but want to ensure that as few students as possible are put in the situation of having to study from home.

Vaccinations

The health service are in the process of rolling out a vaccination programme to 12-15 year olds and we are issuing further information regarding this. This will come to parents via WeDuc. Please look out for this communication and respond quickly so that we can ensure that our colleagues in the health service can make appropriate arrangements.

Risk assessment - Covid -19

The governing body approved at their meeting of 8th September the risk assessment for the re-opening of the school. It is available for you to read on our website.

Wet weather

On an entirely different note, but about protecting ourselves, it was clear that many students came to school earlier in the week with no waterproof coat or umbrella. Please can you check that students leave for school appropriately equipped so that the focus can be on learning and not managing damp clothing.

Parent Conference

Please find below further details on a conference for parents hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council. It is an opportunity for interested parents to attend workshops of problem-solving, transitioning to adulthood and welfare benefits. Details are in the leaflet.

Open evenings for entry to year seven and sixth form

Our online open evenings are filling up, so please make sure you have booked, either for the open evening (entry to year seven 2022) or our sixth form open evening (entry to year twelve 2022). We have already shown a large number of parents and children around the school in our tours. Sessions are still available up to half-term, so please book one to visit!

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
