18th September 2020

With another week back, routines are becoming established and I continue to be pleased with how all of our staff and students have adapted.

At the same time , we need to be mindful of the fact that a number of schools across Nottinghamshire have had to amend their provision and we can not assume that Chilwell will remain immune to this.

Our curriculum is now established on google classroom and so all resources that teachers are using in class are available in electronic form in students' google classrooms.

If the situation were to arise that the school has to amend provision and ask groups of students in bubbles to remain at home, we will inform you via WeDuc and ensure the information is clearly on our website.

Of course, we hope this does not happen and we are enjoying the fact that we are back at school together.

Someone else who was pleased to be back at school was Kevin, our terrapin, who had managed to escape our pond area until retrieved and returned home. It is clear how welcome the return to school was for Kevin!

Next week we will be hosting our open evening for parents of prospective students and the following week we have our sixth form open evening for students planning on starting A Level courses with us. These online events will give parents the opportunity to have more information about our provision and what we can offer.

Last night we held our welcome evening for parents of students starting year ten. Thank you to all those who attended - the slides from the presentation and answers to questions raised will be sent out at the start of next week.
