4th September 2020

It has been a very emotional week! First, greeting our staff for training days after the bank holiday and then on Thursday and Friday bringing four year groups back into school.

Thank you again to all parents of children at the school for the way you have helped prepare them for the return to school. I was delighted with the positive, thoughtful and enthusiastic attitude that was clear in all of our students. I had the opportunity to greet all of our new year seven students as well as a distanced assembly with our sixth form and catching up with year eleven students in our staggered breaks and lunchtimes.

After all of our planning, it was such a pleasure to get back to proper teaching and on Monday we will feel like we are really all back to school with the return of years eight, nine and ten.

Our entrances and exits are working well, but these will only really be successful if students arrive on time and disperse quickly at the end of the day. Please reinforce this with your children before Monday so that we can be helped in our arrangements.

It has also been great to see that our staff and students can see past the tight arrangements we have in place to the bigger picture of their education and their future. It has been one of the positives that has come out of this situation to see the resilience and positive response of the whole community. We thank you for helping ensure this has kept going and keeping the fire of learning going so that we can really get it roaring now students have returned.

**PLEASE NOTE** Calls may be monitored or recorded for training and quality purposes.
