17th July 2020
Events continue to move quickly and we are very keen to ensure that parents and students have as much information as possible before we reach the end of term so that the summer break can start with confidence for all about next year.
I will be writing home to every year group next week to give more detail on the day pattern, lunch arrangements and other changes that will affect students in their working day at Chilwell.
We are confident that we have the curriculum in place , but there will be a significant amount of summer work to ensure that the year areas are ready for students to resume their learning.
We have already agreed on the different entrances that year groups will use in order to access the site in an orderly and considerate manner. Please see here for more details on this.
Next week would have been our activities week and so it will be even more of a reflection on some of the opportunities that we have lost this year. On the other hand, the significant challenges that have been thrown at the school and our community has meant that we have continued to find creative ways to ensure that our school work can continue and this will assist us greatly as we look forward to the challenges of next year.
On Wednesday of this week, we held our second evening for parents of year six students. Next Wednesday we will host a similar meeting for parents of students moving into our sixth form. Thank you all for the positive messages of support we have had as a school.
Please look out for further information to be sent home during next week.
Keep safe.
