Our lake is home to a wide range of wildlife and it was good to see one of our terrapins pop out for a rare sighting.

Our students were again fantastic, coping well with the arrangements we have in place but also with the very hot weather. We urge students to dress to stay cool when the temperatures are high but also to have sun cream for the journey to and from school.

Thank you to all the parents of year six students who joined us for the parents' meeting on Wednesday evening. it was good to see you all and be able to answer questions and take further information from you about any concerns about making the move to secondary school in September. We will be contacting eligible families shortly regarding free school meal vouchers over the summer period. It was a welcome achievement from Marcus Rashford to have this provision extended and I was pleased to be on Radio Nottingham last week to talk about the work that we have done as a school to ensure this ongoing provision is available. I was asked to speak again this morning about our campaign to ensure this was properly funded and I am delighted in the role that Chilwell school has been able to take in providing a lead for other schools, from the early provision of PPE to the NHS, to campaigning for support for families in need, a clear and structured on line provision for the curriculum and weekly contact between school and home.

We are currently putting in place arrangements for the release of the examination results for years eleven and thirteen. Today is a significant day as it is the last official day for the students who are leaving us. We wish you all well, but look forward to seeing you when you pick up your results in August.

Our on line curriculum continues for all students and parents will have had another opportunity this week to talk to their child's tutor about work and well being. Our thoughts are obviously now becoming more focussed on next year. We have a range of plans ready to put in place, with the intention that we will have all students back in school. The central anchor to this is the curriculum and I am very pleased that our options all involve a regularity of teaching, clear support for students and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
