"It takes a village to raise a child"
Thank you to everyone, in whatever role they have taken, in supporting the wider opening of the school this week and moving forward with plans for next year.
For students in years seven to nine, we have uploaded new tasks for you to complete on google classroom. Information has gone to year nine students regarding option choices for year ten GCSE courses and year eight students continue with the process of choosing specialisms. For this latter selection, it is vital that the form is completed fully so that we can set up the groups and courses for next year.
Next week, we have set up a parents' evening for the parents of new year six students. We will be able to share more information about the school, take questions and talk with parents about any concerns about the transition to secondary school. All of this through an online meeting! We are hoping it proves helpful.
This week, of course, was notable for the return of our year ten and twelve students. Whilst it was a real pleasure to see them again, it was also sad that we are not yet able to offer the same provision for other year groups. This is why we are committed to staying in contact with parents through our phone calls and the opportunity to talk about how your children are getting on and any concerns about their well-being and their work. We know that this is an aspect of our current provision that is valued.
We will be discussing with faculty leaders on Monday the next stages of our provision so that we can continue to plan ahead and share details with you.
Thank you to all of our year ten and twelve students for this week. Their behaviour was fantastic and they took the changes to the school site in their stride. There have been so any changes and our students were able to demonstrate their optimism and resilience in these strange times.
Keep safe.
