24th April 2020
This morning we have populated google classroom with students and tasks are all in place. Many will become live on Monday for the next set of assignments. Students will be able to submit their work this way.
If there are problems in terms of understanding or completing work set, please inform subject teachers – if there are technical issues, students have been asked to contact our IT support team.
Thank you to all of our staff who have worked hard over the last week to get the resources in place – we are sure that students will find the new arrangements a further improvement on our on line curriculum.
Our team of year leaders met this morning and we discussed in detail the need to ensure that we support students in their return to school. We are very clear that there will be a need to ensure that students are back up to speed with the curriculum, but it is as important, if not more so, that students are able to feel confident about re-engaging with others in a social setting. We all want to see our friends again and as staff we are as keen to see each other as students are to see their friends. We are already considering how we can support the two strands of developing our social structures and our curriculum structures together so that they do not come into conflict when we return together.
We continue to miss you, but also wish you safety and security.
Best wishes and look after each other.
