Whatever side of the political spectrum we come from, we are all agreed that the future will bring changes. It is why it is so important for our children to be resilient and able to cope with change. One of the issues that we find in school is the level to which students are able to bounce back from difficulties, get back up and move on. Our school community is full of a wide range of people and I am especially proud of those people in the school who are facing challenges daily and yet still come forward with a smile and ready to face a new day.

With holocaust memorial day on Monday and assemblies focusing on tolerance and understanding, Chilwell school makes every effort to ensure that students understand the challenges around them and how to approach them with sensitivity, compassion and a commitment to do better.

We have been meeting with heads of our partner primaries and some of our teachers have been sharing curriculum and planning with colleagues in the White Hills Trust in order to work across the area to bring the best for all students. Next week brings our revision evening session for parents of year eleven students at 6pm in the theatre and further curriculum planning opportunities. We believe in the importance of developing strong networks as part of the school's own approach to developing resilience.
